Azul Announces $285 All-You-Can-Jet Pass For Brazil

Azul Announces $285 All-You-Can-Jet Pass For Brazil

It's hard to believe that tomorrow is the final day that Jetblue's All-You-Can-Jet Pass is valid. While the AYCJers return to solid ground after tomorrow, they now have a new option for extending the fun, if they're willing to very adventurous. David Neeleman, who originally formed Jetblue and now has his own LCC based in Brazil, is inspired by the AYCJ Jetblue model, and has announced the Passaporte Azul from Azul. Do you know how genius the All-You-Can-Jet Pass was? Well, the Passaporte Azul is possibly even more genius: for 499 BRL ($285), you can fly Azul's route map just as freely as you did Jetblue's, only this time you'll be hopping through a country wholly excited by Rio's Olympic win and full of cheap and vibrant places to discover. More details, after the jump. To snag a Passaporte Azul—which is not affiliated with Jetblue in anyway, you might be surprised to hear—the brazilian all-you-can-voar pass goes on sale on October 15, and is valid for travel around Azul's map immediately, from October 15 through November 16. Limitations on the pass include no travel on Fridays, Sundays or Holidays
—specifically not on Oct. 31 and Nov. 2 and 3, and seat availability factors into being able to book the flights as well. Different from Jetblue's 3-day advance purchase rule is Azul's tolerance of same-day reservations. This means that on the Passaporte Azul, you can wake up in the morning in Sao Paolo and decide, over breakfast, to jet to Manaus that afternoon for an evening of ecotourism and relaxing in the Amazon rainforest. Of course, this assumes that you can make an Azul city, preferably Sao Paolo from where they fly to 13 other cities, your headquarters for the month. We can't help but think that if any AYCJer takes up Azul on this pass, that they are going to have an more eye-opening experience; we just hope they know some Portuguese as the Azul Passporte website is all in the language, and well—so is the country. Their destination cities: Azul flies to Sao Paolo, Rio de Janeiro, Vitoria, Belo Horizonte, Manaus, Recife, Salvador, Maceio, Fortaleza, Campo Grande, Maringa, Curitiba, Navegantes and Porta Alegre. How to purchase: To purchase the pass on October 15, and to make any reservations with it once you've got it, you must contact their call center directly at +55 3003-2985. Keep in mind that we translated all this information with our rudimentary knowledge of Portuguese, so if you have more information to add that you've translated off their website or if you plan to embark on this month-long adventure, then do please let us know. ,,,,,,
