Weekender: Hidden LA

{Lake Hollywood is my favorite new find. You can walk across the bridge and get a perfect view of the Hollywood sign.}
Living in a big city has its advantages; everyone is always discussing the hidden gems that make Los Angeles such a quirky place to live. A friend from Dallas was visiting this weekend, and we decided to plan an entire day of finding hidden/unique things in the city. We explored Lake Hollywood, tried gourmet popsicles, shopped for exotic spices, and even managed to carve out a few hours for a makeover.

{Suck It is a gourmet popsicle shop in Studio City. I tried the spicy pineapple.}
{I was very excited to find Indian spices at the Spice Station in Silverlake. They had such a large selection of salts, infused sugars, bitters, and hard-to-find curry spices.}
{While Drybar and Blushington aren’t exactly hidden secrets in LA, they are definitely worth checking out. My friend, Katie, opted for a Cosmopolitan (loose curls) and the Smoke and Mirrors makeover.}
{Because of the huge UFC fight, we ended up trying a new bar that wasn’t crowded. Frolic Room is a quintessential dive bar in Hollywood that has been featured in countless movies.}
*I will be featuring all of these places on the site (with more juicy details) this week.
