In order to satisfy such a varied and entertaining program, the lodge is located in a unique region where the visitor is offered all the typical characteristics naturally found in the Amazon ecosystems. Amazonat offers a variety of tours including mountain biking, canoeing, motor boating, and walking trails. Don´t miss the overnight camping at Jane´s Place where you will experience the night sounds of the jungle, or the Night Tour where you will see tarantulas coming out of their lairs and fluorescent fungus.

The Amazonat Jungle Lodge encompasses 1200 hectares (3200 acres) of land. The privately owned property is covered with primary forest interlaced by small creeks that connect to the Urubu River, a tributary of the Amazon River, which flows behind the property. The acidity of the water in this region inhibits the proliferation of viruses and mosquitoes. Staying at the Amazonat Jungle Lodge can be considered mosquito free!

Recently, research for a Masters Thesis on Amazon Flora was performed at the Amazonat. Please refer to this www.treemail.nl/kronendak/amazon/ to view photographs and information on the flora at the Amazonat Jungle Lodge .

The Amazonat is a Sustainable Tourism Ecolodge, which provides educational and economical support to several small communities in the surrounding area. Most employees are Caboclos or local natives who are learning a specific trade. Services offered at the Amazonat Jungle Lodge are designed to allow the Caboclos to improve their lives while offering visitors a more natural environment. Therefore, some services offered may not be at international hotel standards.

Travel to Brazil and Experience the Amazon Jungle at the Hotel Tropical Manaus
The Tropical Manaus Hotel is situated on the shores of the Rio Negro in the heart of the Amazon, only 10km from the Manaus International Airport, and 12km from downtown Manaus.

The hotel is well known for its Portuguese colonial-style decoration, family-friendly atmosphere, and superb nightly entertainment. We highly recommend the music and folkloric dinner shows held at the poolside most evenings. Also take advantage of the Manaus city tour which takes you to all the most interesting sights of Manaus.

The Tropical Manaus Hotel features spacious and comfortable rooms, all with air conditioning. The rooms are punctuated by marvelous dark wood and colonial-style interiors.

The Tropical Manaus Hotel is the perfect starting point for visiting the Amazon rainforest, and the hotel itself gives you a taste of what you will experience if you choose to go deeper into the Amazon and stay at one of our recommended Amazon lodges - Uakari and Amazonat. The hotel grounds are filled with trees full of singing birds and wild monkeys.

Visitors to the hotel will have the opportunity to experience the Amazon without losing contact with civilization and the comfort offered by the Tropical Manaus Hotel.

Travel to Brazil and Experience the Amazon Jungle at the Cristalino Jungle Lodge
The Cristalino Jungle Lodge is nestled in a private forest reserve in the Southern Brazilian Amazon rainforest. It borders the Cristalino State Park and is therefore part of a continuous extensive protected area that extends northward into the adjacent state of Pará.

This unique region contains many species found only in this part of the Amazon. The area contains pristine forest and aquatic habitats that support a very rich fauna and flora, and it has been described as an Amazon sanctuary. The Cristalino Jungle Lodge is built in an area with forest on all sides; it can only be accessed by boat. The buildings are usually a mix of wood and brick with thatched or brick roofs, decorated with local furniture and crafts. It has a beautiful garden with wild flowers, vines and orchids.

The lodge has become an internationally famous destination for nature lovers of all types, in particular birders and butterfly enthusiasts, but also attracts those seeking adventure in a peaceful, exotic location.

The facilities include an extensive trail system, a new 50m-tall tower that rises above the forest canopy, and a clean black-water river where one can canoe and swim. Well-trained resident guides assist visitors to find interesting wildlife and to interpret what they see whilst simultaneously looking after their safety.

The lodge has equipment for use in the forest and a library to help visitors identify and learn about what they see, and the lodge is designed to combine rustic comfort with respect for nature. The number of tourists that can visit Cristalino at any one time is limited to ensure that there is minimal environmental impact.

Tourism is not the only function of Cristalino. The most important objective is to preserve the rain forest and to contribute to conservation efforts in part of the Amazon that is rapidly changing. With this in mind, the lodge encourages and supports certain scientific research projects in the area, and the Escola da Amazônia holds regular workshops at the hotel and forest fragment in Alta Floresta. These workshops cater mainly for high school and university students and aim to increase their awareness of environmental issues and respect for nature.

The Cristalino Jungle Lodge is an internationally recognized prime area for birders and butterfly enthusiasts. The lodge has more than 550 bird species, including a number of interesting endemic species, and probably at least 2000 species of butterflies! Several species of endangered primates live in the canopy of the pristine rainforest around the lodge, and mammals such as tapir, agouti, and deer inhabit the forest floor. They share the forest with a host of other smaller creatures, including a newly discovered poison-arrow frog.

There are more than 20 km of well-maintained trails along which these wonders of the forest can be observed. The trails pass through different habitats, and you will always be accompanied by naturalist guides who will help you find and identify interesting plants and animals in the forest.
Cristalino is an exciting vacation destination with much to offer, and with nearly ten years of experience and tradition, you will enjoy high quality services. We invite you to enjoy the wonders and challenges of this beautiful Amazon region by visiting the pristine rain forests at Cristalino, one of the world's most special wild places, ,,,,,,
